Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
As good as home, they have won it now.
Ranieri is clearly a very good and likable manager, always liked and rated him. They have a good group of players playing without fear and working their bollocks off who realised that they can win it and have shown no respect to the so called big clubs. They got on a roll and have seen no reason to stop whilst riding their luck with injuries and decisions. Also the "big boys" are not that good this season which has also helped them obviously.

Fair play to them and if not us then I'm happy for them.

Surely the gap is closing BECAUSE of the way the Premier League is set up and the money involved being split in a more fair and even way unlike in Spain where the vast majority of money goes to the top 2 or 3 clubs.

They will win the league!

If we'd have had their luck with injuries and decisions then we'd be right up there too.

Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
Today's Leicester is a reincarnation of the Brian Clough/Peter Taylor led Nottingham Forest side of the 1970s and early 1980s and arguably the Clough/Taylor led Derby County side in the early to mid 1970s

That is why when pundits claim that the Leicester story is what the Premier League is all about, I would say this is nonsense as the Premier League was set up with the sole purpose of enriching the big clubs further and creating a chasmic gap between the haves and have nots, and certainly wasn't supposed to assist clubs like Leicester

What Leicester have done and, if they win the title, will do, is stick two fingers up at the football hierarchy and remind them the value of good coaching and good football without the obscene money It may be epjemeral and the usual form re established next season But at least it can show that money isn't everything

Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
Apparently it was said at the weekend that should the league have run from 1st April 2015 to 1st April this year then Leicester would have won it by 17 points.
I hope they hang on. They will be the first team in the premiership era not to be accused of buying the title and show everyone else what can be achieved with ambition.

I beieve it was 5000/1

A Leicester fan put, I think, a fiver or tenner on it, but he might have cashed in a month or so ago. The bookies certainly dangled that carrot.

Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
What odds would you have got for them winning the league back in August?

Or finishing in the top four?

Or staying up?

I'm guessing that a few Leicester fans are going to win a shit load of money

Leicester are bigger than Blackburn

Blackburn a small team? They were the Chelsea / man city of the time

They'll be the biggest ever single odds sports winner in history if they manage to win the league.

Spurs have been much luckier with injuries than Leicester have, bearing in mind how many games they've played.

Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
Just because they haven't had many bad injuries doesn't make what they're doing any less of an achievement and to try and suggest that to be the case is just bizarre.

I honestly think we'll beat them but Spurs really need to win every game now and they won't do that. Arsenal won't beat us either.

SnarestoneIron 5:06 Tue Apr 5
Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
They used 18 different players to start, 23 players on all. Pretty impressive really. Any ideas on how players have started for us in the league only?

Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
People intimating that something weird (PEDs ) is going on haven't considered that these are not going to automatically change a 'lower league' standard player into a great one.

It's different to other sports like cycling and athletics where endurance and speed are the key components of performance that can therefore be enhanced by drugs.

"It will be a hell of an achievement for them to win the league, but I'd say it would be even more of an achievement if they had similar injuries to us, or man u, or Bournemouth next season and still went on to win the league. "

Sort of proves my point. You're almost playing down what they've done this season.

Marston Hammer 3:59 Tue Apr 5
Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
considering they went out early(ish) in both cups - rotating players too , it's no great shock that they've not had many injuries. doubt many of their players have played more than 30 games this season.

fair play to them - i certainly don't begrudge them their success.

They had a dodgy decision against us at Upton Park....can't remember it now.

Nagel 3:54 Tue Apr 5
Re: Leicester Conspiracy ?
HH, that might seem odd if they were playing in Europe or had a cup run but they've been able to concentrate on the league so haven't needed any squad rotation really.
